I'm planning on going to Punta Cana on March 16 - 23 and am interested in golfing. Could you shed some light on the fees being charged.

It is too hot there to play 18 holes in one clip?????

During the winter time, the golf courses of the Punta Cana area are bathed in breezes, so it is very unusual for it to be too hot to play 18 holes.

You have several options in the Punta Cana area.

As you can tell from the courses listed, I,m a "North Shore" vacationer. As far as best place to play there, Playa Grande. Have played it last 4 yrs. down. IMO- the most scenic golf course I've ever done. This includes a lot of places in USA,MEX,and the CARR. Current green fee as of 2/29/01 is $92US. This course in USA would be private or in the 200 to 300 dollar range. Still waiting for it to be listed in Golf Magazines best courses to play. It's THAT good. Hillbilly did you get my e-mail? Tried to send 3 times-errors. hope 4th time worked.big mess that day.

Randy - are cart rentals mandatory there or can you hire a caddy.

Can you walk after 2:00 p.m. and is it cheaper at that time.

Are you better off making tee times at the course itself or going through the hotel.

From what you posted in response to my e-mail are the cart fees in addition to the green fees?

The $92 includes cart and caddie. I booked our round directly with course in Oct for the round in Feb. and could get a tee time within 1/2hr. of the one we wanted. Book early if playing in morning. While in the clubhouse someone called to ask about playing that day and was told MAYBE after 2. Not sure about afternoon rate in PG, but there is a considerable difference in fees at Playa Dorado. Oh yeah, no walking at either place in the morning.
