Good hotel in Boca Chica?

I arrive in Boca Chica for 1-2 weeks in mid-August and was hoping someone might recommend the best hotel for a single room for one person that $35-$45 USD with taxes will buy.

A/C and an in-room safe would be the highest priorities along with general comfort and a good location. A small living area would be nice too.

Thanks for any suggestions.

If you are single try Hotel Costalunga, or Calypso. You can bring in girls without too much hassle.

Try Boca Chica Resort at US$ 48 per night all inclusive!

I am single and that is a concern. Are there many hotels that don't allow women into the rooms? Thanks.

These two hotels you will have no problem brining in women. However, the all inclusive resorts forget it! Be warned the hotel receptionist may want a tip, my advice, give them a small tip, then you wont have any problems afterwords.

Great. Thanks again. I am also in contact with El Candil and Hotel Europa. I have read good things about them, but don't know their policies regarding overnight guests. I read a very bad review of Calypso as being trashy and overpriced.

Re: Good hotel in Boca Chica? El Candil

I've always had a good experiences at the Candil . safe deposit box, kitchenette, bedroom, seperate sitting area, but make sure they give you a room with a balcony overlooking the pool.overnight guest are not a problem.... Then relax and get a message across the street at La Casa Rosado

Thanks. I've been in touch now with Candil and they are very quick and responsive via e-mail. And, yes, they said no problem with overnight guests. Are the beds in decent shape there?

Villa sans soucy is a very nice place, it's just the location (too far!) that sucks. The ppl are second to none, and so is the food and service, like I said it's the location! It's a moto everytime you want to go downtown.......for me anyways.........maybe I'm more lazy than most, but on the way back you have the hill and then the walk!

Joe,

I recommend Costalunga. Its cheap ($35/night), well-run, and all units have a kitchenette to cut down on the dining expenses. Also no problem with guests.
