The white sandy beaches of Bavaro and Punta Cana and the rest of the tourist havens in the east of the Dominican Republic are now practically free of the sargassum seaweed that made beach going often uncomfortable for people. With the daily increase in tourists, this is, indeed, very good news.

Good news. Maybe I will drive over there for a week.
Does this mean climate change is reversing ?

The week of October 7-14 there was plenty in P.C.
No seaweed on playa Sosua, clean water, nice swim to reef and welcome by reef fish.:)

Here on the north coast, we ha resurgence of the seaweed problem the last 2 weeks....

Way too much has appeared and I can see it out in the ocean floating towards points west.... RSJ, Sosua/Cabarete
