Has anyone been to what they are calling "Greece in Puerto Plata"? Where is this? What exactly is there? Is it worth a visit?

I google your question....Looks like an expensive tourist excursion $119/person https://www.grecialandia.com
Someone sent me some photos of it, asking if it truly existed. They were interested in going but I have never heard of it. $119.00 seems like a lot of money to go see something that is supposed to resemble a "Greek village".

Looks like it's $89 per person if taking the entire tour via bus (include 40 minutes in a rum museum, time filler?), or $29 per person if you take your own transportation to the village. Either way, you get to east some sancocho...to me, that takes away from the Greek experience :)

The website shows $89 by bus, or $29 if you arrive in your own vehicle.

You're right. Why go through all the trouble to recreate this and not serve traditional foods and snacks at a premium?

Is in San Marcos, just behind of the Loma Isabel de Torres.

I'd rather spend a day either at El Naranjo ecolodge or at La Catalina, and I'll get the same views from the mountains and the ocean.

Never been to Greece but know many people who have. I did fly over it last year on my way to Izmir.

What a weird thing to offer tourist. No offense but if people wanted to go to Greece...
I can think of a lot better ways to spend $119.00 USD down here in the DR 😁

The pictures look nice but does anyone know what the idea behind it is/was? If I understand correctly there really is no Greek food served, etc...so I am just wondering what the idea behind it was. I have always loved Greece, Santorini specifically with the beautiful, whitewashed buildings and blue roofs.

This makes it seem like there are other food options beyond the sancocho, since they mention restaurant access. Authentic Greek tostones, anyone?
