Had a outstanding dining experience today

Three of us had lunch at Casa Luca today in Santo Domingo. From a stand point of ambiance, food, service and customer attention this restaurant ranks high on my list. If you are looking for that kind of restaurant you should give it a try if you live in SD.
Had lunch between 1:30 - 3:30 and the inside restaurant was full, Even more so when we left. They have a very large outdoor area that wasn't being used and I suppose it's used during dinner hours.

It definitely has that stance...but Italian dishes are prepared like nothing like you can image . Very hard to describe here but an example of my main dish was: pesto pasta (green pasta),,,two waiters served is as follows: first waiter lays down the pasta onto a edible shell and places it on the plate. Another pours a red sauce around the shell..then around that a cheese sauce,,,then a scattering of crouton on top and fresh basil,,,and then hot cheese over the pasta.
Pasta came out very hot but al dente
Shell is broken after eating a bit of pasta allowing you to mix in the outside sauces. The you (aka I) eats the shell.
So many tastes. My guests had pepper steak and sliced steak. Again,very different.
I started with salmon carpaccio (sp).

They served a pasta pesto with “red sauce” and a cheese sauce?
Very interesting, I would like to try it.
Are the chefs Italian?

My error in that it is green pasta but not a pesto sauce. Common to think green pasta always has pesto sauce.
