I was wondering about post earthquake looting. But is there really anything of value to loot . You could not even get a club sandwich before the quake.
Of course there are things of value, from the perspective of someone starving and with no source of clean water.

The 2010 earthquake has me soured on the Red Cross forever. However, like the article says, there are lots of small organizations and churches you can donate to if you want. That is definitely the way to go.

It's reported that the U.S Coast Guard has a heavy response on the ground with medical evacuation and aid. This will no doubt save many lives. They can set up a a MASH type hospital anywhere in the world in 1/2 a day. However it will not come close to fixing the current problems.

Amazing how this issue has disappeared from the headlines.
Life goes on…..elsewhere. The truth of the matter is no one cares unless it affects them personally. Haitians are obviously affected, but there are repercussions for DR too. The rest of the world? Not so much.
