A Haitian gang that specialized in robbing trucks on autopista Balaguer in Santiago has been apprehended by the authorities. Ironically, they robbed the merchandise truckers were transporting to Haiti. The head of the gang was also caught and he is a member of the Mawozo gang in Haiti.

Read about this earlier this morning.
I hope they make an example out of each and every one of them. This is exactly why I keep saying immigration needs to be working/ doing their round ups throughout the night and not at 6am when these Haitian fellas are on their way to a local construction site to put in 12 hours of back breaking work.

Btw, Mawozo is the gang that kidnapped the US Missionaries in Haiti. In the previous article it gives the idea the head of the gang in Santiago also member of Mawozo in Haiti was caught, but near the end of the article it seems he hasn’t been caught and is still on the run.

Quite frankly, with this it’s confirmed there arecMawozo’s in the DR. I think it’s a matter of time before they start kidnapping US citizens in the DR too.

Robbing Dominican truckers was not a good idea. If Dominican truckers decide to take justice into their own hands, those Haitians better run back to Haiti as fast as they can.

Anyway, something is wrong with this article and this photo. The article says they were dressed in police uniform, they were armed and they were stopping trucks to rob their cargo and a truck. What cargo? The one we see in the photo? What kind of truck was that, little Daihatsu truck maybe? Now look at these clowns in the photo, can you imagine them dressed as Policia Nacional? Imagine yourself as a trucker stopped by such "police", I bet they barely speak Spanish. And all these trouble for what, to steal the cargo of used shoes and crocs and some bags of rice?

Does this look like a really serious and dangerous gang?

Edward Fernandez Edward Fernandez
The Public Prosecutor's Office brought to justice only one of the 15 Haitian citizens who, according to the National Police, formed part of a gang of robbers that was dedicated to stealing merchandise from truck drivers traveling on the Joaquín Balaguer highway .
The defendant is Fredo Rosima , alias El Flaco, against whom the Permanent Attention Court of the judicial district of Santiago imposed three months of preventive detention , as a coercive measure.

Regarding the other foreigners, a source informed Diario Libre that they were repatriated to their country without being prosecuted, because no elements were found that linked them to illegal acts that the police initially attributed to them.

The informant said that seven other Haitian citizens are wanted for the robberies , including Pierre Peguy (Joni), leader of the neighboring country's gang known as "The 400 Mawozo."

Several days ago, law enforcement announced the arrest of 15 Haitians who allegedly form part of a structure that robs truck drivers on the Joaquín Balaguer highway .

He is accused of stealing at least six trucks loaded with various products while they were traveling along the aforementioned stretch of road.

According to investigations , the stolen merchandise was being taken to Haiti.

Victims ' complaints indicate that the attackers use long weapons and clothing with law enforcement insignia to commit their crimes.

I thought exactly the same thing.
If that is what they robbed...it is a pitiful haul.
It brings to mind the practice in England (many years ago) of rounding up thieves who were accused of crimes such as robbing a neighbor's chicken or a pair of worsted pants.
Rounded up, loaded onto ships and sent to their penal colony in Australia.
That picture elicits more sympathy than anything else.
It exposes poverty and desperation.
But then again...
I have been called a bleeding heart more than a few times in my long life.
So there is that.
