The ones promoting medical tourism should take note. If this is true.

100 (ONEHUNDRED) !?!? in 10 (TEN) years !?!? Compared to the numer of surgerys that are performed here every year this is nothing !!! People think because it is called "Cosmetic" Surgery, it is some easy and totally safe procedure. According to a new study; removing a Kidney is less invasive than any Lipo. And let me guess.... this "Researches" that warned about the DR... is it possible that they are maybe are located in the US, the very same country that is loosing a lot of business !?

They also don't do a comparison by country. So the result is just scare.

The issue is people trying to pay the lowest price they can for procedures. Some are more concerned about the price, they do not investigate too deeply into the qualifications of the surgeon, the quality of the location, etc... The DR is not the only country which has these issues.

Yup same all over the world.

Most recent example is hair implants in Turkey, dental work ( mainly esthetics) in Romania.
In France and the UK ( I mention only those 2, cos that's where I have insight ) more and more places are refusing clients who want to have their foreign botched jobs taken care of.

The other issue is the language barrier and simply ignorance that there are things like colleges or societies where legitimate doctors of all types are registered. If the guy you are thinking of being your plastic surgeon is not listed, are you really going to let him even touch you?

Remember the two women that open a "non-invasive" plastic surgery center in Piantini. Their entire plastic surgery endevour was based on a course of a few days they took in Argentina. That's not how you get registered as a plastic surgeon in the corresponding Dominican society. Several of their patients (all Dominicans) had issues and were permanently disfigured (the body more so than their faces) because of that. Not everybody is able to go to Juan Dolio and wear a bikini when your stomach area is grossly disfigured.

Another thing is how soon many women that get multiple plastic surgery are sent back to the US so soon. The airplane pressure during a flight will be felt on those areas that were intervened, especially if there is a sutured cut as is usually the case with breast augmentations.

I remember a couple of months after I had the stroke which affected my ability to walk, I went to Florida for a goddaughter's graduation and in both flights during the entire time the airplanes were in the air the problem leg has a soft pain that came and went, plus I could feel more of the pressure on one side of the face. It went away as soon they landed. Plus, after the return flight my therapy for walking actually saw very fast improvements to the point the therapists was shocked. I blame it on the airplane rides, what else could it had been if before the flights progress was happening at a much slower pace? Imagine what feeling the airplane pressure must be like after surgery. As if that's not enough, many of those people don't live nesr the east coast of the USA. The 2-3 hours flight from SD to somewhere on the east coast is one of two or more flights in one day.
