Former President Leonel Fernandez was in Washington, D. C. for the 17 May 2025 graduation of his 21-year-old daughter, Yolanda America Maria Fernandez Cedeño. This is his daughter with former Vice President Margarita Cedeño, born in 2003 during his third term in office. Cedeño would go on to be the vice president in the Danilo Medina’s governments.
Yolanda Fernandez Cedeño received a master’s degree in Educational Psychology from George Washington University in Washington DC.
For the occasion, her parents took to social media to celebrate this significant achievement, with Leonel Fernández stating: “It fills me with pride.”
