I am looking for a hotel in the Colonial district to compare to Juragua given that a number of people have noted it's a bit over-priced. However, I would like something comprable, but maybe a bit reasonable. A/C, Clean, good service and somwhat open access to Spring breaker fun is what I need. I've heard that Juragua has Cable in English, anywhere else in that same centrally located area? Does anyone have an opinion about Hotel David or Hotel Delta? Thanks in advance. DR here I come, I can't wait!

Re: Hotels close to nightlife in colonial district

Hotel Mercure is nice & new, and not too expensive, approx. 900+ pesos /double. European style rooms are smaller than what American expect. Parking can difficult as it is limited.

Hotel Hispanola adjacent to the Hotel Santo Domingo is older but well maintained & very nice. One of my favorite in the city. Price about 1200 pesos/double.

Out at Boca Chica I recommend the Hotel Costalunga. Very affordable(700 pesos/double) and close to party-time!! If I were a Breaker I would be out in Boca Chica where you can get a bit wild and no one will notice. Lots of available girls...

Forget the Jaragua, Intercontinental (Centenario), Melia or Hotel Santo Domingo. These are nice but cater to businessmen and they limit the Partying (particular to younger groups).

Good luck. Need any further info let me know via email. I travel there all the time.
