Hotels in Punta Cana/Bavaro area

I tried to ask this in the East Coast section:
I will be traveling out to Punta Cana (from Santo Domingo) for a business trip near the Princess resorts. I do not want to travel back the same night but do not want to get an room at AI rates. I was looking at the Non-AI hotels that are posted in the East Coast info section.
Does anyone have any opinions or "ratings" of some of these non-AI hotels? Has anyone stayed at them?
Is the El Castillo Real really only 700 pesos per night? The website shows rooms that look ok, but is it true? Or too good to be true? Does it have basic food in the area (for late dinner and breakfast the next morning before traveling back)?
I could even just crash at a cabana for the night, but I have no idea where the cabana's are in the Punta Cana/Bavaro area.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I know you are probably being discreet, but could you give me a little more of a hint as to what you mean.

What I mean is that the hotel is used a lot by the hour, as across the street in the Bavaro Plaza is a bar they call Sake Leche. But all the action is after 1 AM. But the hotel is OK.

Ok - I understand completely. I am ok with that. I just need a place to crash and it looks pretty good. Thanks.

hotel in Bavarao/Punta Cana

I like the Hotel M T, in Bavaro in the Brisas Plaza. It is not on the water, but it is newer and quite quaint.
If you pay cash it is around $45.00 a night single. They have a few larger rooms as well. I cannot recommend it high enough, I thoroughly enjoy staying there. Antonio is the owner/mgr.

It's not what you think. I stay 7 - 10 day on avg. there, and I know what a sleazy hotel is. I've never seen where this hotel even gets the people who would stay for that rate. In fact you will find Dominican families, elderly couples, honeymooners all staying in Flamboyan. My only issue I have is the restaurant below which is not owned by the hotel with the lack of breakfast they serve. But each room also has a fridge, so I stock up on my needs. As I stated before, have stayed there over 60 nights the last 5 years, and will hopefully stay there another 60+ nights in the future.
