My sister and I want to travel from the Punta Cana airport to Santa Barbara de Samana, spend a couple of nights there, and then return to Punta Cana.
I cannot find any good transportation options online. A taxi is too expensive, the bus ride is 6+hours with multiple changes, and I'm nervous about renting a car and doing a road trip.
I've heard there is a ferry from Sabana de le Mar or Miches, but I cannot find updated info on it online. Do any of you have more information about it?
Or another option is there are day excursions from Punta Cana to Samana, and I wonder if any tour operator would allow us to be dropped off at Samana after we do the tour, and then picked up a couple days later when they come back with another tour group? Does anyone know if that's a possibility?
