I always wondered why these interest rates are so high. Higher risk of sloppy monthly payments I can see but then again I have never seen full financing by the banks while they have the full value of the collateral, especially in real estate. It must be a money tree for them.
With these high rates many try to pay off as soon as possible, money that is not spent elsewhere.
We are looking at a 10 year mortgage and it’s hard to find something under 14%. Thiefs!
