Lets say my friend is young not yet 21 yrs old, multiracial- 1/2 puerto rican, 1/4 black and 1/ 4white. Met a baseball player while she was working at a club summer 2013. He went back to DR in October 2013 once the season ended but the two remained in contact. He just got back to the states February 2014 for spring training, he has been saying he loves her for a couple months now, and she is really falling for this man. He doesnt speak great english and her spanish is not great either. Now that he is back in the states he expects her to move to his city. What should I advise my friend about seriously dating a Dominican baseball player, while being so young?

Can he pitch consistently in the 90s and put a curve on the ball ? Can he bat 300. Is he going to play triple A league ? If he is going to play in the minor league which is possible, she will make more money than him. If he is signing with the "Bigs" he will dump her like a like a broken cup in his jock as he will be getting super quality chicas 24/7

Further, just because he is playing minor league does not in any way insure him of making the Bigs. More minor league players become truck drivers ,waiters and fireman than Big league ballers. The odds are astronomical against him, period.

No, No No, that would be my advice...Until she gets to know him, his life in the DR (meaning who else he has here), etc...do not do it. The road to the Majors is a long one for many. Tell her to take her time, see if that is the lifestyle she wants because it is not for everyone. I knew a girl that did this a few years ago. She is still trying to get her life back on track after giving up basically everything to follow him. Oh and the guy, living in NY somewhere with some girl.

...on the other hand many Dominican players (including many who made it to big leagues and made tons of monye) are married to Americans.

So he met her on a 'road trip'.......how many other cities does he have women in? And even if she moved to his city, how long would he be at home before going on the 'road' again?

A man unsuspectingly drops his wallet on the street in "Da Bronk".
Two Puerto Ricans see it at the same time,..........................

A Dominicano beats them both to the wallet!
