Iberostar Punta Cana or Iberostar Bavaro?

I'm thinking of upgrading from the Iberostar Punta Cana to the Iberostar Bavaro. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two besides the room type (large room v. junior suite). Don't the resorts share facilities and restaurants? Do you get more choices regarding food and drink at the Bavaro? Is it worth the money to upgrade? Thanks for the advice!

I don't think that the Iberostar Bavaro is an all inclusive. They offer some kind of deal, but not the all inclusive. Check your brochure or with your travel agent.

It is well worth the cost to upgrade. We stayed at the Bavaro in March,1999. It is definitly all inclusive. Not only can you use the facilities at the Bavaro, you may use them at the Punta Cana and the Dominican. This is two gormet dining rooms, a Mexican, and an Italian. Read my review of the Bavaro at http://www.computan.on.ca/~pdowney/travel3.html Upgrade and enjoy

definitely worth the upgrade. we stayed at the iberostar bavaro and thought it was much nicer (we walked over to the punta cana, peaked into the rooms, checked out the pool and restaurants). the food at the iberostar bavaro was quite good at the buffet and very good at the gourmet restaurant. plus you can try the grill at the punta cana or any other restaurant if you stay at the bavaro. the rooms are larger. the pool is fabulous. and yes, we did an all-inclusive at the bavaro. have fun!

How much does it cost to upgrade from Iberostar Punta Cana to Iberostar Bavaro? Did you upgrade once you got there, or before? Thanks!
