Mym friend and I are going to the Iberostar Punta Cana Hotel from March12 to the 19th. I am concerned because I have heard so many different things about this place. I have heard that it is wonderful and that it is aweful. I am just looking to hear wat others have thought about this hotel. I hope it is not bad. Please someone let me know!

It's both, the beach is great, the grounds are great, and the rooms aren't bad, but the food is awful (hotdog & fish kabobs and mystery meat) and the service is less than good (18 hours without toilet paper, even after calling front desk several times). Oh yes and lets not forget all the people that got sick and had to take antibiotics and in some cases get IV's to replace lost fluids. I was hit on (with my wife 10 feet away) by five teenage working girls in the Bavaro shopping plaza not too far from the resort. And the list goes on, I'm not stuppid enough to think that my vacation should go without any hitches but this one was far from the norm and I've taken about 22 all inclusive vacations.

The more I read, the more confused I get. The reports on the review board as recent as January 1999 say that the Iberostar is just fine - food, everything. I even have had several private responses form people that syat there all the time and they have indicated no problems, no illness, etc. if everything is done in moderation. My family are not picky eaters, so the food is not a great concern. We went to Mexico and were illness free even when others said they got sick. This vacation has me really confused. The more read, the miore confused I get. Is there a better all-inclusive hotel you would recommend?
