Farmers and hotels will be in better shape looking for help. Trump just put a pause on deporting those worker in the US UNLESS they are criminals

Trump = Common Sense.
Eventually Luis will have to find a solution to this problem or construction projects across the country,
of which there are many, will grind to a halt because Dominicans will not do back breaking work for
such low pay.

I guess the cost to the end consumer will go up, but perhaps with some better, more qualified help, structures will stop collapsing.

I don't see Luis following Trump's actions. I believe they will eventually come up with a more liberal way of doing worker visas tied to specific companies. But to just say we only deport criminals won't happen on Luis' watch.
They will only come with a plan if they can line their own pockets

Common sense would realize these issues with mass deportations before beginning the process, and thus some sort of plan beforehand. That didn't happen there or here in the DR...time will tell what the fixes will be and/or the results thereof

I absolutely agree with this part of your post, and the same applies to agricultural work. I don't think many Dominicans would do the manual work in either of those two sectors for quite a lot more money.

Right. You spin it however you wish my fine mushy peas eating comrade!
I disagree.
These day laborers are gonna do whatever the boss onsight tells them they need to do that day regardless of the potential problem(s) it may cause in the future.

The onus of responsibility falls on the individuals at the top of the food chain who clearly made some very bad decisions.

The only "issues" had with mass deportations to the north of us are coming from the same Team Autopen who let them into the country to begin with, go figure.

Well, I don't mind at all if construction comes to a sreaching halt. That would be a good thing.
What a typical gringo attitude to display.
You try telling this to the poor people who are finally getting a tiny government home built, paved streets, working street lights and water pipes installed so their children dont have to fetch buckets of water every morning from a well at the bottom of a steep hill.

SMH...
