I am a travel agent in Mi. I have some family traveling to Punta Cana next week. Has anyone heard of any type of illness or outbreak there in the last few weeks? One of my family members is a a two year old. I would hate for for anyone to get ill while there. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about Illnesses, not only in Punta Cana but the whole Dominican Republic.

There is no illness or outbreak here, just a lot of beatiful sandy beaches,90F and lot of sunshine days to enjoy in your vacations.

Enjoy your stay and...... come back for more anytime.

Sincerely

Jose

Re:NOW YOU HAVE DONE IT JOSE!!!

You have let the secret out that the DR has great beaches, wonderful sunny weather and fantastic tropical breezes almost every day. Not to mention some real nice people. Hope you are ready for the invasion that is bound to occur when the rest of the world discovers our island paradise!!! LOL

My sister in law took her 2 boys to Punta Cana ages 1 and 2.
They were ok, did not get sick but you just have to make sure
that the baby does not drink any water unless it's bottled.
When bathing the baby you should boil the water. Maybe they
should speak to the baby's pediatrician before taking the trip
to Punta Cana, the doctor can recommend a vaccine ( I believe
it's typhoid to protect the baby from any water contamination).
Good Luck.
