does anyone know where I could get a cabana or a hut on the beach in the DR, I'm travelling on June 12th and all I can find is hotels or resorts, I'm on my own and just want a little peace and quiet.

Does nt' really matter, close to santo Domingo as it'll be my first time and I have to find a way to get around. TAnx

Don't know about Santo Domingo area, maybe something near Boca Chica.
If you come up north, in the Gaspar Hernandez area you might find something. A few years ago a friend rented a cute little place on the beach. You really have to rough it, no running water, electricity or normal toilet. Basically you're living like the natives, who are very friendly. My only suggestion is to come over and check it out.
PS a cabana here is a place (motel like) where lovers go to.......Good Luck

it "was" right what Eddy say, but not anymore. They build a lot of new Caba?as and they have a better comfort and they looking even for tourist's. But it's also right, that you have to found/figure out by yourself, because there are so many, all around the country.........
They are almost just at the phereferies/outsite of any city. And if is a clean+ serious place you have to see by you own
