Anyone have any idea of how to get a standby flight from anywhere in Canada (preferrably Toronto) to anywhere in the DR (preferrably POP)???

I spent a few horus on hold with Air Canada only to be told they stopped doing stand by flights years ago.

Any info on this ASAP will be greatly appreciated.

If you mean a flight with only a day or two notice buy air only on a charter and get rid of the return if you don't want it - try www.belairtravel.com and see if they have last minute deals. Standby nowadays tends to be people wanting to go earlier and are trying to get on a flight by waiting to see if that is full. Not a ticket sold with no idea if you have a seat right from the get go.

Thanks for your replies.

Actually I have checked lots of the online sites for last minute flights. but most of them will only give dates from July 8th and on.

And being that it is Canada Day everything is closed. I was hoping to travel today or tomrrow.

And another thing..

Another problem..since I just got married..I don't have a passport it is in getting my name changed. Does anyone know as a Canadian travelling to the DR if my drivers liscence, health care card, SIN # and birth certificate be enough to travel?

I've travelled without a passport to the DR before, all you need is your driver's license and birth certificate and you should be fine.
