Intrant intelligent traffic light contract put on hold for irregularities in contracting

The Procurement Agency (DGCP) called for the temporary suspension of the contract signed by the National Institute of Transport and Transit (Intrant) with Transcore Latam SRL.

The Procurement Agency studied the case after former suppliers to the Intrant protested the awarding of the RD$1.32 billion contract to a company that was created seven months before the bidding and reportedly has no track record in supplying the required services.

The contracted works were for the improvement of the traffic control center and the traffic light network of Greater Santo Domingo. The Procurement Agency reports its investigation found irregularities in the bidding process.

The decision is contained in Resolution RIC-156-2023, issued on 27 October 2023.
