Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, is in Santo Domingo since Sunday, 5 March 2023 for two days of high level sports and government meetings He is scheduled to meet President Abinader.
Thomas Bach, arrived accompanied by Neven Illic, head of Panam Sports, will hold exchanges with authorities of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), and the athletes who are preparing for the Paris Olympics 2024.
Bach, a German national, and Illic, a Chilean, were received at the AILA by Luisín Mejía, in his capacity as IOC member and president of Centro Caribe Sports, and by Garibaldy Bautista, head of the Dominican Olympic Committee.
The agenda of the visiting mission is to visit the installations of the Dominican Olympic Committee on Monday morning for meetings.
