Contentious I know, but being from the UK it is completely alien to me.

I lived on and off for a number of years in the US and in the NFL off season I watched it from time to time and would never understand it even if I lived to be 150yrs!

Just before last Christmas a kindly friend here invited me to Santiago to watch a 'live' game, a much better atmosphere than the TV but even so not much action until almost the last ball of the game when the batter hit the ball out of the stadium, a big four hour yawn really for me.

It could never better the 'beautiful game'

Are the only qualifications necessary to be a player to be able to chew gum relentlessly, spit and scratch your bo$$ocks?

Apologies.

Lots of people feel the way you do about baseball, only about soccer/futbol. I myself find bowling the only truly boring sport, but having bowled a few times (school league) realize it takes a great deal of skill to be good at it. Different strokes for different folks.

I think golf has got to be number one. What is the point of spending all day wandering around
a huge golf course trying to get a little ball into a little hole.:tired:

i hate all sport activities with a passion born in the heart of a lazy, stiff, clumsy and introvert kid forced to play team sports through primary and high school. i wish double incontinence and a falling rectum on all my past PE teachers. curse you. as a result i have competitiveness of a crippled, tailless spermatozoa that found itself shot into an old gym sock. i have zero interest in sport of any kind unless it it featured on MTV's ridiculousness and involves busted nuts, twisted wrists and remortgaging a house to pay for dental work. that makes me laugh.

so to me all sport is boring. i am, however, familiar with a few american sportsmen who were dumb enough to bare bone some slut and implant her with a future recipient of child support and therefore featured in gossip sites.

Watching it on TV is even worse. My dad used to do that, and I told him it was like watching grass grow.

I like bullfighting when the bull wins.

Eccentric best describes cricket. The last six Cricket World Cup tournaments were won by West Indies twice, India, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

My favorite position is silly mid off.

baseball is a game of strategy filled with a few moments of excitement, just like real life. Hockey is a cold stupid game, sort of like soccer on ice..
that should get a response from our euro-trash friends and canucks,,eh?

All of you are __cked up. Are any of you men, manly men? First of all, hockey boring. It has the most action of any sport out there. No, I am not from Canada, der,eh? Have you watched any playoff hockey? Baseball is a slower game but it is only boring if you don't understand the subtleties of it. If you are from the UK I can understand how you wouldn't have a clue what is happening in American Football but baseball should be easy enough to figure out. It is like me trying to understand Cricket. If you are a sports fan than you enjoy watching just about anything short of Curling. Golf can be very slow and if you are not a golfer than your appreciation of how difficult this is is lacking. I find that Soccer can be boring because it is mainly a defensive game with few scoring opportunities. The most boring of all to watch is car racing. How many left turns can you watch? F1 is a little more tolerable. In general you are ususally a sports fan or you are not. Nothing is boring if you are genuinely invested.

I find Hockey way more boring than Baseball!! Yes I should have my Citizenship taken away from me!!!

I find Hockey and Soccer/Football WAY more boring than baseball. Can't even stand watching 5 minutes of either.
I have never watched a full American Pro Football game either. It's not boring, just not interesting to me.

I agree with the cold stupid... That about sums it up for hockey (fighting on ice).

Any sport you don't understand is boring. If you understand the subtleties a sport is endlessly fascinating, especially if you've played it.

If you played baseball all day in the summer when you were a kid just for the sheer love of the game you would know what you were watching.

I saw Pel? play in Bangkok late in his career. THAT wasn't boring. I click through soccer on TV.

Yes I have watched all kinds of soccer and I enjoy watching it for the most part. Like I said, I am an avid sports fan and never a very good participant so I live vicariously through the teams I watch. If you watch ice hockey and all you see is fighting than you havn't watched it lately. Hockey is a lot like soccer but on ice witch makes it much more difficult. And, yes soccer is for the most part defensive. Get over it.
