If that is...
with all taxes, non or one stop, no long wait times between flights, then that is a good price for November. If you had said that the price was for mid-December to mid-January, then you would have won the equivalent of the airline lottery. Your next opportunities for reasonable flights from BOS to PUJ come the last two weeks of January, and then again in early April.
However, check those flight details carefully. Lots of airlines (AA included) are publishing some nice numbers, but when you check the flight details it involves either multiple stops, long wait times in-between flights, or an overnight stay. Those negatives can far outweigh the price.
Finally, using different airlines for your trip (AA/LanPeru) has its own set of challenges. Baggage fee differences and scheduling seem to be the recurring issues there.

I've never considered flying direct to Punta Cana before as I have never had reason to fly there, and now I have a few nice reasons. So I checked tickets today from Bos to PUJ and got the lovely price of $425 round trip, no ticketing fees and via AA and LanPeru! This to me is very cheap--being in the cold North and all--and I wanted to know if this pricing is the norm? This is for travel in a month (not to fear Punta Cana friends I am not coming in a month, it was just my first window to come). I would gladly fly into Punta Cana more often for that price...POP is so expensive, STI a little better...I can just take the airport bus dwn from Portland and it delivers me right to Boston Logan.
Anyone do Bos PUJ and know the pattern?
