Like the title says, I've never had a problem, but in the last hours, this has happened. I've never seen such a thing.

Ants.jpg

Those are clumps of ants on the wall above my desk.

I've got some Terro ant traps I'm going to put out and see what happens.

Ants are tricky and messing with off the shelf traps and poison may make it worse. I'd advise calling in an exterminator and have it looked after professionally. You'll save yourself a lot of time and aggravation for little cost.

I've seen "clumps" of small ants on the counter sometimes if they've found something to eat, but what could be on the wall(?).

" clorpirifos" is a powder, the ants take it back to their home/nest, and wipe it out in hours.....

Use at your own risk, as that stuff is dangerous, but available in any agro-vet.

" cru-e-l " ( no idea of the spelling, i would have to look at the container ), takes it to another level. That poison exterminates EVERYTHING.
Its used in a " bomba" and sprayed around.

Dominicans in the campo will even use it in their houses--- I've seen people spray it over their furniture, clothes, etc ... --- but I would strongly, strongly advise against doing that.
I use it, maybe once a year, or once every 2 years, on the patio and in the conuco to cut down on ants, termites, cienpies, etc. ...

good luck !

My only advice i can give .. do NOT KILL THEM, the visible ones .. the soldiers or scouts or whatever they are .
Do not even HARASS them in any way .. If you ever picked up a Log or stick, and got simultaneously Bitten by a hundred of them, you will immediately understand that they communicate with each other , very effectively
the only plan is to Put ANT POISON out which they take back to the Queen, once the Queen of the Colony is Dead, you WON .

I have had a fair amount of experience in dealing with ants and say again...call an exterminator. Folk remedies and most sprays, bait, traps etc... that you can buy don't work well, can rile up the ants and make things worse. Also the things you'll find and might try make it harder for the exterminator to work effectively when you fail and need to call them in. This just takes more time and increases the expense.

You don't have to believe me https://www.strategiesonline.net/safe-remain-home-exterminator-sprays/#comment-46507 and there are many other examples of experts giving advice. Don't mess with it yourself and call an exterminator now.

I've had very good luck with those, but you need to place them on the trail and it takes a couple days.
Well, here we are, 10 hours later. The Terro ant bait is empty, and there isn't a single ant to be found. I bet they won't be back either.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

You posted "Terro ant traps" and "Terro ant traps".

This getting old is a bitch, ain't it.. LOL

These are what I buy on Amazon.

Don't let that "snap off tab" fool ya; try to snap that off and you'll make a mess. Cut it off carefully with a pair of scissors:

Thanks for the response JD.

Did you ship them to the D.R.?
Just wondering because of the toxic contents.

Yes. I used Domex, my regular courier for them.
