If you're in Santo Domingo, you might want to stop in the synagogue there. It's near the EL EMBAJADOR Hotel. It might be on the same street (AVENIDA SARASOTA). I don't think the synagogue/museum in Sosua is open anymore.Philippa said:Anybody have contact info of original settlers of Sosua (or their descendants) living in the States?
You better off contacting Mr. Koch. He is a very nice man to talk to. I know him personally and he will tell you all there is to know about early sosua. He practically built sosua with his bare hands. He had arrived here from austria after WW2 (survived nazi concentration camp). I hope he is in good health to receive folks at his age. He should be found in the synagogue of sosua.Lechero said:The museum is open in Sosua.

Martin Katz and Felix Koch are also original settlers from Europe in Sosua.
It is open and there are many of the original Jews there and still alive.rellosk said:If you're in Santo Domingo, you might want to stop in the synagogue there. It's near the EL EMBAJADOR Hotel.
