New York Mets’ Juan Soto has reaffirmed his commitment to be on the national team to the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The WBC 2026 tournament will take place across four cities — San Juan, Puerto Rico; Houston, Texas; Miami, Florida; and Tokyo, Japan from 5-17 March 2026.
The announcement was made this Monday, 12 May 2025 during a press conference in New York City, where he was also officially presented as a brand ambassador for Banco de Reservas (Banreservas).
“I am 100% available for the World Classic. As long as I am healthy and the team allows it, I will be there giving my all for my country,” Soto assured.
The New York Mets slugger noted that he has been in constant communication with the Dominican Baseball Federation and with Albert Pujols, who is the team manager.
