The National Meteorological Office (Indomet) is forecasting occasional cloudy patches that could lead to scattered showers and thunderstorms across several provinces. These weather conditions are being caused by a lingering trough that is gradually moving away from the forecast area, located northeast of the island over Atlantic waters, as well as the effects of the prevailing east/northeast wind.
Dominican Republic residents can expect scattered showers and relatively cool temperatures in the coming days due to the influence of a high-pressure system over the Atlantic, according to Indomet.
