There is "no waste of money" if even one life is saved in this hell on earth. If one thinks that this cancer will not spread rapidly to the DR, IMHO, you are sadly mistaken.

The Kenyan Military doesn’t follow rules of engagement. Shoot first and never ask questions later is the way they operate. War lord mentality but It’s been relatively effective in keeping terrorist groups out of their country. As harsh as they are, they may actually bring some sense of order to Haiti because of their reputation. The street gangs may fear them. It’s takes one to know one.

The issue will be how long they are willing to stay and what kind of support they receive from the U.N. If the Kenyans man the front lines, other forces could assist with stabilization In less risky circumstances.

Someone has to step into this mess at some point to do something. As Johne says the Haitian cultural cancer will spread further into the DR and eventually to nearby countries. It’s a question of when not if. The chances of Haiti resolving its problems are the same as Putin admitting he was responsible for Prigozhen’s death. Nada!

You have a good understanding of the problem. Within a decade, DR is going to be like France under attack of the Arabs & African gangs, losing power of certain neighborhoods. It's coming fast, and once you lose control, it's mostly impossible to get it back if demography is not on your side.

More fear mongering and propaganda by the expat community.

I’m a reader of history. If France has understood the true long term impacts of their colonization of North Africa, maybe they wouldn’t have done it. Then again, the same could be said of Britain’s colonization of India.

Anyone aware of Haitian history knows Haiti can’t function at a normal level without outside assistance. Unfortunately its geographical location, connected to the DR land mass, makes it a major concern for DR security and government resources. The rest of the world, not so much.

Interesting comment but lacks credibility because of the million or so Haitians already struggling to survive in the DR, the pressure on DR hospitals near the border to provide medical assistance to pregnant Haitian women, and the DR military cost to man the porous border. Do you honestly believe if nothing is done, the situation will just disappear? “Where ignorance is bliss, it’s folly to be wise”.
