I'm leaning towards giving Laurel Eastman Kite Boarding School my business. Any insight or advice for a first timer on why I should or shouldn't? Any additional feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

Scott, though I've never kiteboarded, I know Laurel, her managers, the location, and store. You may do as well at another school, but I don't think you'd do better. I know several people who learned there as well and all were happy.

all the major schools are good...im not sure if LE is any better than Kite Club.
Though i must say there are differences between kiting in Cabarete bay (where LE is) and at Kite Beach.
The bay is much choppier and with a bigger shore-break, and less wind on the beach, whilst KB, though better general conditions is generally busier.....a lot busier.

Today, for exaample was one of the busiest i have ever experienced at KB.

Whatever you decide, enjoy!

ps and make sure you get a teacher with whom you share a common language!

Cabarete is one of the best kiteboard spots in the world. All of the schools are good. just go. Its more of a question of how good a student you are not how good is the school. The fact that you even ask this question makes me question just how good an athlete you are. Kite surf is not difficult for a person in shape and comfortable in the water.

I'll do my best Tamborista. This board has provided me with plenty of answers to the question I have. Thank you all!

No, sadly I am not. But I have lived here 10 year. Friends with many kiters and talked with those who took lessons from the various schools. I have heard enough to believe I know what the general consensus is from kiters. Sometimes word of mouth can be wrong, but not usually.
