I would like to go to cabarete (i'm currently in santo domingo) to learn to kiteboard. Can someone suggest a good school that is inexpensive for a first time kiteboarder? Also, what is a decent and inexpensive place to stay??

i have friends who are instructors and say that students learn best from the places which have radios to talk to the newbies, try extreme and the place next to it i think they have radios, but this seems to make sense

I think Kiteclub at Kite beach uses them too, but I'm not to sure.

I'll give a call to John (the owner) and let you know.

Learning to kite is not inexpensive unfortunately and cannot be so, if done correctly. The use of radio helmets is a bonus as less time is wasted in the water because the student can still hear the instructor about body-positioning, etc. Kite Club use radio helmets now. Laurel's school, LEK, Dare to Fly and Kite Club have the best reputations in town. If you stay at Ali's, he will work with Kite Club automatically.
