Filming crews caused havoc in Santo Domingo’s Piantini neighborhood and environs this Wednesday, 15 December 2021. The crews were shooting the Netflix TV show Suriname. One of its leads, Park Hace-soo worked in the hugely popular series Squid Game, which is famous worldwide, and has an assured role in the Korean version of The Paper House.

Suriname is based on the true story of a South Korean man who becomes a drug lord. It takes place in Suriname in 2008. The plot tells about how after moving to Suriname in search of a better life, In-Gu Kang loses all his money when he gets involved with Yo-Hwan Jeon, one of the most feared drug trafficking kingpins in South America.

Seeking revenge, In-Gu becomes a double police agent to unmask his former colleague.

That kind of thing happens all the time. Many Hollywood movies never left the sets on the back lots.

At least the subject material is correct for the location here in the DR.

Lived in this naighborhood three years.

Parroquia Santísima Trinidad, Padre Lautigo Garcia, the Catholic priest that did not had fear of Trujillo.

Well it was a nightmare yesterday in SD, all streets packed. I'd have a meeting in plaza salud at 2 PM so I leave my house in SDE at 1PM and arrived hour and a half later. The same for return, so 30 minutes with thr doctor and about 3 hours on the streets....
But I'm sure, that's every day now in christmas time the normal chaos in the capital.
