Does anyone know of a hotel near SDQ where you can stay one night before a flight and leave your vehicle for 10 days free or for a reasonable fee?

I would advise you to stay in the Colonial Zone and park your car in the secure carpark above the Cestur office on the Conde. This carpark is safe, and only charges 20 pesos per hour. At least you can relax on your trip knowing the vehicle will be safe, and the hotels are far better in the Colonial Zone than that Quality.

I would have to agree on this!

My advice: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from Quality Hotel by SDQ, the owners, managers and all staff there are theifs, b*tch and f*cking azzholes, trust me. I was there twice, they screwed me over but lucky I complained with the HQ office here in the states and they refunded my money back and 2 night free stay. Just stay away from THIS one hotel! Go to all other better, nicer hotels in the city, you will be more treated like a customer.

Thank you!

Could you please tell us what exactly happened to you there?

Could you please tell us what exactly happened to you there?

When I visited SD in 2013 for the first time and when the plane had cancellations and I was forced to wait for next flight which is next day, which I refused so I asked about the closest airport which was Quality. When I went there, I saw there was 3 guys wearing fancy suits and trying to be nice and writting in english and I told them I am deaf and they send me to a room for $139 a night and I was impressed since it was my first night. Next day, when I checked out, they added silly charges that I did not ask for and they refused to remove it and says it's a valid charge. I refused to pay and told them I would dispute it with my credit card. They threated me to call the police and charge me for harssing, wtf? I know because I am deaf and they had the lucky way to use that. When police came, I tried to talk via translate but the police dont give a sh*t and told me to get out or go to jail. I told them, take me to airport or I will call the embassy, they got scared so they took me to the airport. When I flew out and arrived Miami, instantly, I called the HQ which is Choice Internationals, Inc and explainded everything and even I took picture that all room has a small sign say if not happy, 100% money back guarantee, they failed. The HQ agreed and refunded my money back and gave me 2 night credit in the US so I accepted. Even they told me that hotel says I'm banned, who cares. I have plenty of other hotels to go to. That's the story.

What did they try to charge extra for?
The room rate is the published rate plus tax. They are entitled to charge tax and not include it in the advertised room rate. Many airport hotels do that as that tax can be claimed back. Majority of guests are on business, not tourists who are going to stay for a two week vacation.

So you complained and got your money back and a voucher for two extra nights. Hardly a bunch of thieves.

I've stayed there several times. It's convenient, clean, modern, reasonably priced and the inclusive breakfast is great.

I stayed once in Quality hotel because our flight got delayed till the next day. Airline paid for it. It was perfectly fine for a one night stay at 5 minutes from the airport.

Going to ZC is a nuisance because you are 30-40 minutes away.

My recommendation was more about the car. Would any of us leave a car in a hotel carpark for 10 days and expect to come back and find it in one piece. No. We'd come back, a couple of mirrors missing, maybe some scratches, and the usual "It's not my fault" speech would come out from all who were supposed to be looking after it, together with constant reference to the sign on the wall that says that they are not responsible if the car gets damaged. Four hour argument at the reception, police called, more money changing hands to avoid arrest. We all know how this type of thing works in DR. And the Quality Hotel is expensive for what it is in any case. The ZC has a safe, secure, carpark above a police station. From there you can easily walk to Casa Sanchez, Billini or Palacio, all of which are much better value than Quality. Yes, it's 30 mins drive from the airport but it's going to work much better for the OP in my humble opinion.

If you stay in the Zona Colonial you will have to take taxies. [Added expense] As Maribel has made the C.Z. A no parking zone. I wonder why Maribel hates the Colonial Zone so much. She and Pat e Pallo are making a fortune from her diabolical plans!

For what you are going to pay for a hotel and taxi and parking take a car and driver directly to the airport.

I see from their website that the daily rate is approximately 20.00 U.S. per day. Rather expensive for 11 days!
