I sent my Girlfriend an invitation letter for her to visit in Canada.

I had the letter notarized and she was denied entry. The officer told a number of them no they were not allowed and given no reason, nor was anything put in writing.

I am in the process of writing the minister and anyone who will listen. I am also
going to see my girlfriend in January. Does anyone have any information on when we can reapply etc. By the way for i have signed with Bell Canada and it's 5 cents a minute to call DR.

Regards

Glenn Batchelor

It is my understanding to not let the Dominican government know that you are in a relationship as this will allow them to think that she is not returning home?

I am in the process of trying to have this done? Does anyone know where I mail the visitation letter to?

I thought I would start you off in a new thread.

First of all the Dominican government has absolutely no say in the Canadian visas decision. The letter of invitation from you should be included in the visitor visa application.

Here is a link for you Visit as a tourist

I'll get you more info in a few minutes

I love how helpful people can be. My mistake. I started a new thread because she was making that statement to a male poster about his girlfriend on a thread from 2008.

AND just so you know in Canada it does not matter since we have same sex sponsorship.

Anna is correct. We in Canada are tolerant. We may be conservative for the right reasons however we live and let live.

Is the plan to stay a couple of three weeks and return?
I think there is a way to post a cash bond. especially in canada... for the return of tourist...

Read the link I posted above for the rules. it's not that easy to get a VV to Canada.

The first thing you have to proof is that you are in a real relationship, and give them proof of that, If you come to visit your partner only one time a year that will be hard to convince at the canadian visa center that you have real relatioship in the case that your partner can not satisfy all the requirements by himself or herself to obtain the visa.

The invitation letter only tell them why she or he wants to visit Canada.

We Dominicans has very bad reputation on visas frauds and fake marriages and relationships.

Try to get the oficial information, so as better informed you are has more posibilities to be sucess, and please if get the visa hope do not stay as ilegal there and stay enjoying canada the time that they let him or her stay. Canada is a great and beautiful country to visit.

Good luck with that.

Hello Everyone I am very new to this blog thing so sorry for the confusion. I am in a relationship with a Man from Dominican and I spoke to an Immigration Lawyer briefly. I am a paralegal but do not deal with Immigration Law so I am trying to get him over here as quickly as possible for right now. My intentions are to get him here on an invitation letter for a 6 month visit. I do have documentation stating that he is taking vacation from his work and that I will be supporting him fully while he is here providing financial documentation. While he is here for 6 months then I am wanting to get legally married here and then apply for his permanent residency based on that or extend his visit. I am trying to find an invitation letter that has been approved as an example and also I am trying to figure out what address I send the invitation letter to as it seems difficult to find online. Thank you everyone.

There is not a model that can tell you for sure he will be acepted, as I told you the invitation letter will tell them why he wants to visit canada, you can make your letter that you want that visit canada, why you want that he visit you, what kind of relationship are you having with him and proof of that, also how you will be supporting his stay in canada and also add proof that you can support him and for how long you will be suporting him. As much ifnormation you give to them about you and him in the letter will be very helpfull to acept or reject the visa.

You also has to make copy of your passport and birth certificate in the papers for the aplication, but the most strongest thing that you will have is that the relationship is a real one.

Good Luck.

The problem will be to convince Immigration Canada that he will return at the end of his stay. That he has good reason to return home. The application has to come from him and your invitation letter can be included.

I'll give you our embassy in Santo Domingo. He can click on the Spanish version. Good luck

Yes, that is the main problem for us Dominican, I went through that also in Dec 2012, Got 6 month multiple visa, then renew the aplication when expired and they gave me 6 years visa, now I can go to canada anytime I want but never stayed till now more than 2 weeks, usually I stay just for 8 or 11 days and then comeback to work, Im lucky that I setup everything at work and when I go to Canada that is not under my vacation period I can work over internet with reports and making sure all is been done in the way was planned before my trip.

So that is why Im telling you is very important to give them as much information as you can and both of you and your relationship. Also if you come to Dominican only one time a year will be dificult to proof your relationship, if you do not convince them that he will return to Dominican, for sure you visa aplication will be rejected. If you want that he stay with you so you better marry him and then apply for a residence.
