The Listin Diario, the oldest of print newspapers, has made the regular plight of media to remove online links, a national crusade. A US company, Network Solutions, has demanded the removal of the link or the media will face serious consequences. The Listin Diario says the link carries correct information. The mentioned party denies they have contracted the service to secure the removal of the link.

They should move to a different provider
Did you read the article?

They are in the process of moving.

The question is, why would Network Solutions do this? Even the person in question is asking why.

I will confess, I skimmed it and my Spanish is not that good. The provider is US based and thus subject to various avenues available there for getting something removed. like a US court ordered it or a notice from a law firm using the appropriate law. The newspaper is learning why various countries insist on datacentres and data being within their borders and thus subject only to their laws.

https://builtwith.com/?https://listindiario.com - I think they are on AWS so their options might be to move to Mexico or to the Sao Paulo regions of AWS. They use a content delivery network so should not see a drop in performance in terms of pages loading

First they (Listin Diario) should Fire their IP Team.
How is it even possible that the oldest Newspaper in the Country does not run their own Servers !?
To have maybe for "Political Reasons"" a Back up abroad would be acceptable.
This can be compared to the Army ordering their ammo on Amazon.
