We've been looking at a number of different lots/homes in Lomas Mironas and are hoping to get some more information on the 3 different sections within the community. There is the Gardens section, the section just above the Gardens section, and then the section that is further up, past security. Does anyone know if they are 3 completely separate communities? Why is one section not secured and the other 2 are? Also, are there plans to put security at the entrance to Lomas, down by the road?

We have been looking at lots in all 3 sections, and we also saw a few homes for sale that really interested us. We're trying to get some more information on how the 3 sections are different, the pros and cons of the 3 sections, maintenance fees for each, etc...

We have looked at "solares" everywhere from Cofresi to Gaspar Hernandez. We keep going back to Lomas and to The Palms. However, although we just love the view from the lots at The Palms, the prices are much higher and we find that it is much more restrictive. One example being, you can not build a wall around your property there at all. This is something that we would want to do - enclose the property.

We're looking for any information that anyone can provide. We do not want to rush into anything, and will continue to look. Our plans are to build a vacation home for now, which will become our permanent residence down the road (can't wait for retirement!).

Lomas Mironas

With more than five years of experience in the upper part of Lomas Mironas (cf. my own thread "Lomas residents-where are you?" from 2003) I daresay it's worth settling there. Buying a lot there (Negotiate!) is worthwhile right by now. At the moment we are a "family" from 12 nations, young and old, enjoying the cooling trade winds in summer time , thus saving energy (no AC necessary because of spacious areas), everything well maintained. Our Security Company has been in charge from the beginning (nothing happened so far). We, the residents, are about to build up monthly meetings for chitchatting i.e. offering a platform for exchanging information. Our last barbecue end of Nov. was visited by most residents.
Now as to some of your questions:

1. "Why is one section not secured and the other 2 are?"
---The gate was moved up since most owners down did not want to pay the fees.

2. You want to build walls. Do as you please.

3. ..."are there plans to put security at the entrance to Lomas, down by the road? "
---We're thinking about it. But most likely we won't have it. Attracting banditos, we're afraid to say. But matter is open still.

4. "how the 3 sections are different, the pros and cons of the 3 sections, maintenance fees for each, etc."
---I can only say that the fact we're having big areas to live in has not only life-style conveniences, just you check the price distinctions of the lots (cf Lomas Gardens with tiny lots).
Maintenance fees are available. Only con is that there are few residents who do not want to pay. Why this is possible I will tell you in private if you want me to (juewalt@gmail.com).

Dear Colleen, if I advise you to think of buying a solar uphill, in our residence area, I am biased of course. But nice open-minded people are always welcome here-even if they build walls.
