Does any one have any ideas about how to find reasonably priced apartment rentals in Puerto Plata or Cabarete?
I am considering trying to spend winters in DR on the North Coast. I do not want to buy property. If the price is right I would rent for the whole year and come when I wish . I took couple trips to Sosua but after checking with a couple of realtors , they were mostly in sales, not rentals. A few years ago I found a reasonable rental in Puerto Chiquito . I stayed for a month. Now seemingly very few rentals. I also went to Puerto Plata and Sosua, in December trying to follow leads and hoping to just come across some advertised rentals. A few telephone number but no responses
I joined a Facebook group that advertises real estate ,but most listings were sales or a few expensive rentals, mostly in Sosua. I am now trying to find something in the city of Puerto Plata or maybe Cabarete. I tried looking at Encuentra 24 which is an online web site for rentals and sales in the DR and other countries but still not many rental listings. Any new Ideas would be appreciated

A little more details of what you are looking for. Like what do you call reasonably priced apartment? $500, $1000, $2000? How many bedrooms? Anything else?
I mean I pay $250/month in small 2 bed 1 bathroom apartment but that's like 10 minutes outside of Sosúa center and it's with my own stuff, so no furniture or electric appliances.

Cabarete
Put a post on the "Everything Cabarete" Facebook group, saying what you are looking for and the price range and you will get plenty of offers.

I pay $160 per month for three sizable rooms in Puerto Plata. Only Coraaplata water is included. I pay all else and supplied my own furniture. It is noisy from 7am to 12 midnight but seems very secure.

I found it by walking the streets in likely areas looking for signs and talking to locals.

This is the best way for the OP. Forget Real Estate agents and Facebook, etc. You will only get the "Gringo Price" which is 2 or 3 times the real price.............
