My neighbor wants to visit Santo Dimingo for a business trip, and would like to know if there are any low-priced air-conditioned hotels
in Santo Domingo. He also wants to stay for a couple of days
in Juan Dolio beach- any reasonably-priced hotels there?
Thank you.

Lots....you can get air-cont. rooms in Santo Domingo for 30 bucks a night, and in Juan Dolio many as well......for around the same price!

My advice...

Don't, I repeat, don't waste your time and money on a cheap hotel, go an extra mile and expend a little more, the money you save on a cheap accommodations will be latter expended on aspirins and retard hypertension medicine.

The same goes for an all inclusive, you get to a cheap resort, you find yourself in a crappy room with a poorly equipped bathroom, a noisy air conditioner and a gallon of hot water on the table.

You get what you pay for, and we Dominicans have a saying that says "Lo barato sale caro".

Re: My advice...

Mark is right. When I go to Sto. Dom. I stay at La Hamaca, top hotel in Boca Chica. At Juan Dolio I stayed at Talanquera. What a disaster that was. At La Talanquera I got what I paid for. One time I had a meeting at 3 PM. They took the dirty towels out of my room at 11 AM. I was late to the meeting because I had to get pool towels to take a bath. This was one of the minor problems that I experienced there. It's to bad 3 years ago, Talanquera was an excellent hotel. Now, you get what you pay for.
