I will be staying at the Alisei in four short days Woot Woot

I would like to get to Coson at some point to enjoy some good fish at Restaurant Louis.
Can anyone tell me if I can make it to Coson by going left as I leave Alisei and roughly following the beach / Ocean to Coson or is it necessary to go through town and turn at the new Supermarket (forget the name) ?

Cheers

No, you can not walk along the beach/ocean around the point to playa Bonita and Coson.
You could try and go up the hill and over
but you would be trespassing through private land, perhaps you could make it.

For sure you could take a moto concho to playa Bonita and then walk all the way out to Luis.

Enjoy your stay!

You would think you could access Playa Bonita by trying to go over the hill at the end of Playa Ballenas but unfortunately this is private property and someone will turn you around. I and a friend tried to walk over the mountain and were denied access. I don't even think they allow quads on the paved walk way on Playa Bonita. Better stiick to the know route. Follow the new road out of town past the Exxon station and make a right. Follow this for about 10 minutes past Playa Bonita and head for Coson. If you pass the water processing plant you missed the right turn down toward Luis'. Great place to chill>

Thanks all.
Darn, I was thinking this would be a nice ride if we could just more/less follow the beach /ocean to Coson.
We will be renting quads.
In addition to Coson can anyone recommend a good quad destination that is an easy drive with nice views and perhaps has a nice bar / restaurant along the way.
I was also thinking about going to El Limon. Not for the waterfalls as I have been there / done that but just for a day out. Are there any bars / restaurants in El Limon should I go there?
When I went to El Limon 3 years ago I was in a cab so I cannot remember the route. Do you have to go through town and head out past the supermarket or do you follow the ocean?

There is one of those small outdoor Dominican restaurants along the road to the cascada in Limon on the right side road, that serves some of the best basic Dominican food I've had. I can't remember the name of the proprietor, but she is a great chef and the place is named for her. A full lunch, and I mean more delicious, fresh food than you can eat in one setting, will cost you less than 5 USD. Ensalada, pescado fritta, plantain, omg, let me stop!

I can give you directions but I can't remember the name of the little village where you access the dirt road. If you take your quads out of town heading up the original mountain road (past the Esso and go straight) You will follow this road for a mile or two as it winds around and you reach the top of the hill. You will come to an old parking area that was part of a store or bar. Great place to take photos (panaramonic view) From there go up just a very short distance further and you will see a road that intersects on the left. Take this hard left and follow . This is a good route for quads and it eventually brings you back to El Limon. Another route to take with quads is the new road from LT to El Catey and back. This road does not have a lot of traffic on it . You have spectacular views and there is even a small cave along the way. You could either turn around and go back the way you came or continue on past the toll booth and stay to the left and head for Sanchez. Go past Sanchez and about 1/8 mile past the Texaco station you bare to the left and start up the hill that goes over the mountain. This road was repaved about 2 years ago and should be good to go. There are many switchbacks and curves. I think it is about 12km and you will eventually come down the mountain back into LT. That is a longer ride. It is about 25kms to El Catey, another 5 to 7 throught Sanchez and about 12km over the mountain back to LT. Good luck and good travels
