Foreign Minister Roberto Alvarez explained the participation of the Dominican Republic in the seizure by the United States of a Dassault Falcon 900EX jet that had landed in May 2024 to the La Isabela International Airport, when asked about the issue during the weekly La Semanal press conference on 2 September 2024.

Alvarez said that on 22 May 2024, the Office of the Attorney General had received a request for international judicial cooperation for the immobilizing of a Falcon jet that had arrived to the La Isabela Airport to give time for the search of evidence that the plane was used in fraud, contraband of goods for illicit activities and asset laundering as part of a criminal investigation being carried out by the United States Justice Department. his days are numbered! He is president of a country with over 30 million people, has oil reserves and is flying around in a jet that is serviced outside his country.

Or Putin will send him one of his extra private jets. I don't understand how the man continues to still breath air.

This is a really interesting story.

Abinader's account of the situation didn't match the US version. Abinader claimed he had no idea who the plane belonged to and that it had been there since May. By the time the journalist questioned him, the US had already seized it stating it belonged to Maduro. Of course, two things can be true, but it seems highly convenient.
