Malaria risk

Hi!

I am flying to Juan Dolio in a week's time and after reading a few alarming reports on the subject, I am wondering how badly spread the malaria is in the South-East? on the coast especially as that's where I will be staying mostly. Basically, are malaria tablets necessary or avoidable??

NO, NO MALARIA RISK, NO TABLETS NECESSARY, NO OUTBREAKS (THAT WAS ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO). EXTENSIVE COVERAGE IN THE ARCHIVES IF YOU WANT TO READ IT.
