I should be there for El Chaval-

I am planning on going to the festival this weekend. I don't have all the specifics sorted out yet but El Chaval (del la bachata) is playing Saturday evening and he is the highlight of the show this year for me. As well, Tito Nieves, salsa is scheduled for Saturday night too. They are back to back shows. Therefore, I am aiming to be there on Saturday evening. I just checked the weather forecast and it's looking picture perfect. Warm and comfortable temperatures and no rain in sight.

This is the twelfth annual merengue festival. The biggest Latino festival in Montreal and Canada that draws a large crowd yearly of locals as well as Latinos from other parts of Canada and the USA.

Here's the link to the festival and the program. If you are looking for something to do this weekend in Montreal drop by Parc Jean Drapeau and enjoy the celebration of Latin culture sponsored by the Dominican community.

Ma?ana is the start of the big merengue festival in Montr?al (Canada). Yeah, the 12th edition. Last year, around 15 thousands people came for the weekend and we are expecting a little more people this year. Bring more friends and family. If you want to continue la fiesta...El Vacilon Night Club is now the only dominican club to go since Discoteca Punta Cana es ahora cerrado.

Direccion del Vacilon Night Club:
6821, Plaza St-Hubert, Montr?al , localizada entre la calle B?langer y Beaubien t?l?fono 514-504-4412
Salida al metro Jean-Talon o metro Beaubien.

El festival-

I am not surprised to hear about Punta Cana. The club slowly lost its crowd and it's impossible to run a nightclub with near to zero clientele. I drove by today and there is a sign on the door saying that the club is closed temporarily but will re-open soon under new administration. It could be that the name changes as well as it being a Dominican club. All will depend on the new owner(s).

I will be heading down to the festival this evening. I hope to have an enjoyable time. I am going in time to see El Chaval and Tito Nieves. The weather is great. I hope it holds up.
