Miami courier and "pre-alerta" question

A family member in the US is sending me something via my Domex address. I have a photo of the US Postal Service receipt, which includes a tracking number and the mailing cost. But, there is no invoice for the package content (value is minimal anyway). When purchasing through Amazon or similar, I always make a "pre-alerta" on the Domex website, which includes the invoice. And normally I receive an e-mail from Domex when the package is received in Miami. My question: should I expect an e-mail in this case when there is no pre-alert? For those who have done similar with Domex or other couriers, any problems?

I use ECOPAC with a Miami address and they send me an email when it is processed, when it is actually shipped to the DR their website gives me the location and the price. This happens without a pre-Alert. Yes, there is an option to send a pre-alerta, but I haven't done so as of yet. I don't get an invoice as such, only a tab showing the amazon tracking number, and the ECOPAC tracking number. If it is from the USPS it shows that number instead of Amazons. I use ECOPAC because they are right across the road from our school. I have no idea what ECOPAC presents to customs.

I only send pre alerts when the value of the packet is near or over 200$

Or if it could be plausible that aduana/🛃 might believe it is.

Never been a problem so far with EPS courier

You can make up your own invoice, especially if you shipping to yourself. Amazon makes an invoice for each order. View your orders and click on "view invoice". You can print the invoice into a PDF file and then use it for the pre alert when the courier website asks for it.

EPS some years ago wanted an invoice sent. A new CEO took over and now nothing is necessary for anything that seems to be under $200. They have a hook now.......

Same here. With BMCargo, I have not always done this even with such items, rather BMCargo sends me an email asking for the invoice, which I then submit obviously. Other than that, I never use the pre-alerta option and still receive email notifications of every single package that comes to Domex. I have also received packages sent by my ex-employer (small gifts including stationary, pens and such), those had no invoices and nobody asked anything.

DOMEX notifies me of everything that arrives in Doral/Miami, even if it's just a letter. I've never done a pre alert with them.

IMPORTANT: USPS will send you a delivered email when they hand off your package to a USPS contract delivery person, who may take a few more days to deliver your package to DOMEX.
Don't be concerned when USPS tells you your package was delivered, but you don't get a notification from DOMEX that it arrived.

EPS customer for over 12 years. Zero problems. I highly recommend them.

Who are "They?"

USPS notifies when it's given to a delivery contractor, The couriers send an email when the contractor delivers it. That can be up to 10 days later.

She must be talking about EPS. They do send an Email when delivered in Doral, as also one when delivered to your office. They are highly recommend as a shipper.........

I have never sent a pre-alerta to BM Cargo. I get an email notification when it arrives in Miami and another when it's available for pickup. Quite a few packages of obviously small value have arrived without an invoice. Zero problem with that.

Thanks everyone, for all the input! All the couriers basically work the same way, so I'll anticipate the same e-mail notification of receipt as I get when using the pre-alert.

BTW, I've lately been trying both Domex and EPS. Both send me a notification when the package arrives in Miami and when it is here redy to be picked up. I've never sent either one a pre-alerta. I never even heard of it until today.

Most packages from Amazon arrive with an invoice but many from eBay don't.

I haven't received an included invoice in an Amazon shipment for many years. I have to download them myself. Maybe invoices are an account option that I have turned off. I religiously used the pre-alerta function with CPS but this company doesn't seem to use them or check if an invoice has been submitted, going so far as to request another invoice whenever a pkg hits Miami.

I have purchased tons of packages from amazon over the years and have never seen an invoice in the package. How do you get it includes?

Now that I think about it more, some packages have had invoices(maybe third party suppliers?), but most don't. I don't remember any of my eBay packages have ever had invoices. All my orders are for less than $200 though. Once I was going to buy something over $200 and the rep at BM Cargo said to send her an invoice first so it doesn't get held up in aduanas.
