To anyone learning Spanish, or wanting to learn, I would strongly recommend the Spanish CD collection from Michel Thomas.
When I first started learning it was extremely useful to me.
Basically it is him with two other students and you are the '3rd student' in the class. It's all done by memory with no writing down and no re-reading notes.
Of course it isn't all encompassing and I'm sure some people will deride the idea as useless and not long term. Maybe they're right! But it gives a good solid basis and was definitely a great help.
It teaches you the rules for how to conjugate verbs as well as a good selection of prepositions and nouns. He also provides most of the (common) irregular verbs.
Even though I know the subjects covered in the CDs now I still listen to the last two (8 CDs in total) every so often to brush up and keep it in my mind. Worth every penny....if you buy them
