The Ministry of Culture confirmed that the 27th Santo Domingo International Book Fair (FILSD 2025) will take place from 25 September to 5 October 2025 at the Juan Pablo Duarte Cultural Plaza. The event, announced by Culture Minister Roberto Ángel Salcedo during a press conference on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, will honor renowned historian Frank Moya Pons for his significant contributions to Dominican history and cultural identity.
Moya Pons, author of the history textbook “Manual de Historia Dominicana” (Dominican History Manual), is widely regarded as one of the country’s foremost contemporary historians. This year’s fair will focus on children’s literature, positioning it as a platform to explore international trends, approaches, and perspectives in this genre.
