Hi Guys,

I need to replace my ageing mobile phone with a modern tri-band model, something like a Nokia 3510i or 7210, anyone know what the prices are like in the DR or should I buy at home before I travel.

Also if they are cheaper over there anyone know of a place to buy em in either Puerto Plata or Sosua.

Many thanks

They must be cheaper

In the States.

Rebuilt Star tacs are RD$900??
Nokia 3390 is 990 with Orange contract
Motorola T193 is 990 with the Orange contract.

Samsung A500 is RD$5695; A400 at RD$2385; SCH-8500 $1895;
Motorola V-60i is RD$5 485

Each company has its different offers.

hillbilly is right

I brought a cell phone back from NY a couple of years ago and it turned out to be cheaper here..
Go for either Orange or Codetel, they are having specials now and the coverage is good.
One thing. If you are going to be based in the Cibao area out of Santiago, go for Orange.. more coverage.
Geezz.. they should be paying me for this..
lol
