Moving to DR / Shipping Container

Has anybody ever shipped a house of goods to the DR from USA? Is it worth it? Custom fees are reasonable? Or should we just give away or sell our stuff here? Thanks in advance

Dominicans are entitled to a once-in-a-lifetime deep discount as a “returning Dominican”. They must prove they’ve not spent over 6 months in DR in the 2 years prior to the container arrival. Applies to one car too.

No. In the DR. I am not a citizen. We have multiple homes and I want to make one shipment for a new home.

I am a US citizen. Wife is Dominican by birth but has her USA citizenship. So she can get that discount?
