national bird

my son is doing a report on the dominican republic and as crazy as this must sound..we are dominican...
but my husband and i can not agree on the national bird.
i was brought up knowing the palm stork(chat) and my husband the cotica parrot. please help us...who is right? or could it be both..
by the way anyone who is thinking about going to the DR it is the most beautiful country ever.:ermm:

Zeus - sorry to let you down but I did a quick search in Spanish on the web. I am glad of course to learn more about my adoptive country.
