WE ARE TRYING TO DECIDE ON A ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT IN THE PUNTA CANA AREA. WE'VE READ GOOD AND BAD REVIEWS ON THE NATURA RESORT. WOULD THERE BE ANYBODY OUT THEIR WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS RESORT, OR ANY OTHER ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS IN THIS AREA? THIS WILL BE OUR FIRST VACATION TO THE D.R.. THANK YOU FOR ANY INFORMATION. MIKE FROM WISCONSIN

Mike,

I don't know about the Natura Park Resort, but I would highly recommend the Barcelo Bavaro Palace or Beach Resort. This Resort features five Resorts in one complex, and visitors have access to most activities/facilities at all of them. We have stayed at the Beach Resort three times and found it to be great. It would certainly be worth your time to take a look at it.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation!

Hi Mike,

I was in Punta Cana 21 March to 4 April this year. I stayed at the Fiesta Palace. Place was very clean, food was good, entertainment was OK, done mostly by the animation team. The dominicans were very nice. All the employees were great, from the reception desk right down to the gardners. I only went off the grounds a couple of times to go dancing, with members of the animation team, and never encountered any problems whatsoever. I plan on going back, but this time to a cheaper hotel where I can mix more with the Dominicans themselves. If you want more info, e-mail me and I'll be glad to answer.

Re: Allegro Bavaro and beyond

My husband and I stayed at the Allegro Resort Bavaro Beach (next door to Natura Park)in May. It's pretty new, but it can hold it's own with all the other all-inclusives in the area. What I liked was that there is some open beach not packed with aggressive vendors on at least one side. The place is popular with Germans especially, but the food, staff and amenities are wonderful.

Be aware that the high season and low season prices vary alot, and the weather doesn't.

One more thought... If you are at all interested in the history, people, or scenic beauty of the country, you really need to get out of the resort for awhile. We did, travelling to Samana and Santo Domingo also, and in the process, we learned that the best part is OUTSIDE the resort. You have to be on your guard against petty thievery, but we felt safe and welcome by the Dominicans we met.

Good luck! Susan

Is it true that you can only eat at all four resorts if you stay at the Bavaro Palace?

Re: Allegro Bavaro and beyond

Is Bavaro Beach on Punta Cana? Still a novice and trying to learn in a hurry. LOL!

Re: Allegro Bavaro and beyond

Yes. It's at Cabeza de Toro just north of Punta Cana proper.

If you stay at the Palace you can eat at any of the restaraunts in the complex without an additional charge. If you stay in the other hotels (Beach, Garden, Casino, Golf) you can use each of their restaraunts without a charge, and the charge is only $8 US per person to eat at the restaraunts at the Palace. This includes most items on the menu (except for lobster, etc. where there is an additional charge). The charge is minimal and seems to be worth it. We have eaten at the "La Brisa" restaraunt on the beach several times and it was great food in a wonderful setting (right on the beach).
