I will be leaving to santiago with in the next two weeks and am hoping to find something or at least have some good ideas before hand. I'm looking for a furnished one bedroom for 450$us give or take i have seen 2 bedrooms going for 600 furnished so i don't think my price range is too off. my only requirements are a nice(safe) area and a clean apartment with hot water. thanks for your help i really like this site you guys are a great community and hopefully i will be joining many of you soon in santiago.

Hello AlexDR537, I think if you are not able to find any apartment till now then you should go to a property manager. He will provide you the property which you need. They can provide you the property easily because they manage the properties of landlords and find good tenants for them so if you would contact them then they will surely help you out in best way.
I hear you can get an nice appartment in Santiago for RD$6000, I would love you to view it for us, see how nice it is.

Stay at a cheap hotel until you find one. Just drive around...there are signs everywhere!!! Go somewhere between HOMS Hospital and the Monument...You'll find something!
